Szymanowksi Quartet

Since its foundation in 1995, the Szymanowski Quartet has developed into one of the most charismatic string quartets of the younger generation. In 2005 the ensemble was honoured with the "Szymanowski Award" by the "Karol Szymanowski Foundation" in Warsaw, which was given for the first time in its history to a string quartet (a previous award winner is Sir Simon Rattle).

Artist's web site

"What have I been doing for the past nine years to have missed the rise of the Szymanowski Quartet? Now that I have heard this Polish ensemble, I shall certainly become their celebrity stalker. Their intonation and blend are impeccable. They don’t so much bow the strings as brush them with silk, or so it sounds. And they seem to play with one heart, one mind, one purpose."
